ITLS alumna Chenyong (Jessie) Zhu received 2014 Emma Eccles Jones CEHS Awards for Alumni Recent Graduate.
Jessie has been working as an Instructional Designer for the National Clearinghouse of Rehabilitation Training Materials (NCRTM), a federally funded organization sponsored by the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) at Utah State University under the Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation since June 2009. Her duties include designing and maintaining the NCRTM website, managing and hosting webinar services for universities/state agencies/national rehabilitation organizations, developing instructional training modules, establishing cooperative working relationships with partners, and supervising digitizing and student workers.
When we asked her what she would advise current ITLS students, she said:
"I got married and had my daughter while I was working on my master's degree in ITLS program. As a full-time student with 20-hour research assistantship work and a newborn baby, I couldn't believe I graduated with a 4.0 GPA. I don't think I could achieve my success without all the support from my adviser, my professors, and the staff from ITLS. I have the best memories from my master's program.
I would advise current students to be always proud of being part of our USU ITLS. Trust yourself! but know that the ITLS professors, instructors, and staff are always your best resource and strong support. If anyone needs any suggestions from me, please don't hesitate to contact me."
CEHS Award Ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2013, 3:30-5:00 p.m., at the Edith Bowen Laboratory School Auditorium. Please plan on attending to recognize your colleagues and students on their accomplishments.
